COVID-19 has affected almost every aspect of our lives, including how broadcast studios are built, but that didn’t stop the incredible team at Bonneville International from pushing through and opening their new facility in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jason Ornellas, Regional Engineer at Bonneville International, wrote this article for Radio World and even invited our own Kurt Kerns to contribute. Designed with integrated technology and planned flexibility from day one, this facility was built for speed and the future, making it particularly effective during these socially distanced times.

The Tenderloin Room Profiled in Restaurant Development + Design

The Tenderloin Room, a classic St. Louis restaurant that the V3 team had the privilege of working on, was profiled in Restaurant Development + Design magazine, who interviewed Design Principal Gabe McKee about the restaurant’s refreshed interior.

A mainstay of the St. Louis fine-dining scene for decades, The Tenderloin Room came under new ownership last year when the longtime family-owned restaurant was sold to a group of well-known local restaurateurs.

That team hired V Three Studios, also of St. Louis, to refresh the space. “They really wanted to see if they could elevate and modernize the look of the space while keeping the historic beauty that is there in elements like the woodwork,” says Gabe McKee, design principal with V Three.

Stay flexible: How to design successful radio broadcast facilities

WCBS 01.jpg

V Three Studios Principal Kurt Kerns contributed a piece on 21st century radio and broadcast design to NewscastStudio, a trade publication for broadcast production.

The article details how emerging technology is continually redefining the broadcast industry and how facilities must evolve to constantly adapt to these rapid changes.

The mission of a radio station in 2020 is no different than in 1920, yet the revenue models and day-to-day operations have changed drastically. This evolution of the radio industry brought on by the advent of the digital age has resulted in changes to nearly every aspect of facility design.
